Nick Faldo’s team are looking for their fourth straight win in the competition and have cruised to victory in the last two events 18 ½ to 9 ½.

Although in the past the individuals in the Europe ranks have not been as good as the stars in the US camp it has been team sprit that has guided them to recent success. However this year the top players in Europe are every bit as good, if not better, than their American counterparts and in Padraig Harrington, Sergio Garcia and Lee Westwood have the three form players in the world at the moment.

Harrington is on the form of his life after winning back to back major championships. There is currently no better player who performs under pressure, which will be a big help in the cauldron, that is golf’s premier team competition.

Sergio Garcia is finally maturing into the player he promised to be when he first burst onto the scene. The Spaniard has gone close three timea now to winning a major and his game is consistently good.

Lee Westwood on the other hand is rediscovering the form, which saw him climb the rankings a few years ago. The big man is showing consistency in his game that will bring him one of the big four titles very soon.

These three plus the other talented players all should equal another European success.
